Every watch sold by The Watch Scanner passes through a multi-point authentication process before it is listed. Performed in-house by watchmakers with decades of combined experience, our process is the foundation of every transaction.

What we verify

Six points of inspection.

  1. Case & Bracelet

    Reference numbers, finishing, and serials cross-checked against the manufacturer's specifications for the production year.

  2. Movement

    Caliber, finishing, engravings, and serial numbers inspected under loupe and microscope.

  3. Dial, Hands & Indices

    Originality verified — factory, service, or aftermarket. Any deviation is disclosed on the listing.

  4. Crown, Pushers & Crystal

    Service history, originality, and condition documented for every external component and seal.

  5. Magnification

    Tool marks, refinishing, and prior intervention identified at high magnification before approval.

  6. Timegrapher

    Rate, amplitude, and beat error measured across all six positions to confirm mechanical health.

If a watch sold by The Watch Scanner is later found to be materially misrepresented, we refund the purchase in full and recover the watch at our own expense — no matter how much time has passed.
